Where are you located?

I do not have a physical location and see most of my clients remotely by phone or video. Should you wish to meet with me in person, we can arrange a place to meet in the Topeka area.

Where do we meet if I want to meet with you in person?

I usually suggest meeting at the Topeka Shawnee Public Library in one of their Team Meeting rooms.

What are your hours?

I offer sessions Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 4 pm.

How long is a session?
Each session is 50 minutes.
How do I set up an appointment?
You can look at my schedule and book your appointment online. Or you can call or email me, and I can schedule an appointment for you.
How do I pay?
Once you set your appointment on the website, you will be prompted to pay. If you book through me, you will receive an invoice, and your appointment will be confirmed once you pay your invoice.
What if I can't make our session?

There are no refunds for cancellation, late cancellation, or no-shows.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, contact me as soon as possible. Rescheduling within the month may be possible, depending on the availability of appointment days and times. No refunds will be issued if no appointment times are available to reschedule your appointment.

How many sessions will this take?

In general, attending therapy for at least three months will give you some basic progress. Committing to 6 months will ensure you are on your way to living an intentional life.

Think about therapy like a graduate course of study – or even beginning a workout program – you get out of it what you put into it. I have had clients who meet with me weekly for many years as they view it like going to the gym – it is good for their emotional, behavioral, and mental health and keeps them on track.

In the end, your situation is unique, and we can discuss what will be best for you and your circumstances. You can choose what you want to do.

How often should I have therapy sessions?
Typically, when you first start therapy, meeting weekly for a few weeks will give you the stability you want. After you determine that you would like more time between sessions, meeting every two weeks is ideal.
What are your education, background, and experience?

I have always considered myself an artist and graduated with a degree in visual communications and illustration from the University of Kansas. When I received my master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Phoenix, I knew I needed to further my counseling education in the artistic field. So I also completed graduate studies in Expressive Arts Therapy from the ISIS Southwest (International School of Intermodal Studies). As my understanding expanded of how energy impacts our lives, I became a certified Integrative Quantum Medicine ™ Practitioner and Teacher.

My approach to intentional living blends psychology, spirituality/energy, and science. In my career as a licensed therapist and expressive art therapist, I began working in the nonprofit sector. I have had the privilege to work in many mental and behavioral health settings, from outpatient, residential treatment, group homes, domestic violence, and homeless shelters to private practice bringing into every scenario the expressive arts as a form of healing. These venues also allowed me to work with many types of people, all seeking the same thing – understanding, healing, and purpose. I have worked with clients alongside volunteers, supervisees, interns, and teams of other clinicians.

What happens in a session?

I begin by asking you questions, so I understand your situation. We choose a focus and discuss the barriers. From there, I provide you with ways to start looking at things differently – because, after all, you have been looking at it one way, and that’s not working fully for you.

I often will give you homework to do on your own and to keep you learning between sessions. In each session, we will celebrate the successes you discovered and any events, issues, concerns, or barriers that might have come up for you. We continue to build from each session, and I continue to help you to learn how to manage and succeed in your goals.

What kinds of clients do you see?
My clients typically range in age from 20-60+. I see men and women, gay and straight, single and partnered.
Do you believe in God?
Yep! I view God as Energy – and we are swimming in it! Once we tap into the power and the Laws of the Universe or God or Energy, our potential is limitless.
Do we all have a purpose?
Yep! I believe each of us is a Soul in a human body. And by learning about the body, we can learn to manage it to discover, claim, and carry out our purpose.
Do you ever get tired of hearing people's problems?
Nope! To me, problems represent potential growth. I immediately think of solutions, the pathway through, and the lessons to be learned. I also consider the connections of the past and how to move forward differently. This work is my passion and privilege.
Peanut or plain?
Peanut… though a tasty plain M&M is good with coffee in the morning when no one knows I just had candy before breakfast!
What's your favorite app?
I’ve been playing Gummy Drop during my down times for years. I love that you can travel the world in this game. My comprehension of geography, local attractions, and cultures in different cities and countries has expanded as I play.
